My space

I know that MySpace is Xanga's competition, but since I cannot keep up both pages (or I don't want to), I'm going to stick with MySpace.  My MySpace name is "Jolly Green (Chris)" if you would like to know.  You can search me by looking at Southeastern Alumni.  *cheers*  Can't wait to see you there.

I enjoy updating when I get a chance because it gives me a chance just to talk.  Of course, when you are in a serious relationship, you both have to learn how to listen, but every now and then, it's nice to just talk.  I'm now working at a country club as a server and I'm having tons of fun.  I was working at Ryan's steakhouse over on Bartow road, but there was no way that I was going to make enough money to raise a family.  Here at Lone Palm Country Club, I'm making anywher from 12 to 18 dollars an hour.  It is nice, proper, and not much more work.  I enjoy working for money rather than standing around and getting things handed to me.  I need to earn it.

Anyway, on a different subject, ya'll have GOT to go check out a website that I received a link to.  It's starfast.net (I think it's .net but try .com if that doesn't work).  It is a cult called Sound Doctrine and you HAVE to read some stuff that they are doing.  They have chosen to fast the Star Wars movie.  I have no problem with that.  But they go on to say that any Christian that watches the movie, #1, denys God by that action, #2, gives into the desires and sins of the flesh, and #3, is on his/her way to hell.  YEAH.  Uh huh.  I'll meet you all there.  I have seen it twice.  And Jesus was with me.  Ok, enough for now.  Check out the site and, by the way, don't try to contact them.  I did and the response was rude, disrespectful, and in no way showed the love of Christ.  These people love to be persecuted and the more people that try to show them the error of there ways just gives them an ego boost.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Hello everyone.

Well, in case there is anyone that I haven't told yet, I am Chris Craft.  I decided to start my xanga site back since I'm getting married in a month from today.  I will be talking about wedding plans and, although there are so many people getting married this summer, I'll be giving some advice from my perspective.

For one thing, never settle for anything.  I came out of a horrible relationship before I met Laura.  The last person that I dated was like a nightmare and Laura is like heaven on earth.  I cannot wait to get married and start my life with the woman of my dreams.  I swore to myself that we were going to plan this wedding with little or no stress.  Yeah, right.  We have been ahead of the game the entire 10 months that we have been engaged.  Oh yeah, if there are 2 things that we would change, we would not have been engaged 10 months (we would have made it only 6) and we would have ordered invitations instead of making them.  We put so many man hours into those invitations that didn't really have to be used.

But anyways, I pray God's blessings over all of you and I will post some different stuff at different times.  I'll post some devotions or some whining every now and then.  Of course we all know that it is nice just to talk every now and then.  This site is made for people to listen to other people no matter what the conversation.  I thank everyone who keeps up with me and I will need you to send me your names so I can check your page to.  Thanks and God bless.

Praise God for the holidays!  After not getting a fall break, this is great to finally have some time off.  Thanksgiving was alright, but this is going to be wonderful.  I'm just going to start giving some hints and you'll figure me out soon.  I'm going home to Alabama for a week and then far, far away for another week.  I can't wait.

I'm in the process of studying several books of the Bible and one of them is Phillipians.  One of the verses that I am chewing on right now is Phillipians 1:6: "being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."  Let's break it down.

"being confident of this" - There is a time in the Christian walk that you have to search for who you really are, as I have talked about in the past; a time for searching out your past, present, and future to figure out what God has planned for you.  But there is also a time for being CONFIDENT of who you are IN Christ.  Your future is cloudy, but who you are is not.  You must be confident of whose you are and the point of everything is that YOU are HIS.

"that He who began a good work in you" - God has started something in you.  Let these words sink in for a minute.  So often we just fly over words in God's word and don't let them sink in.  Let's chew on this.  God began something in you.  He started something in you.  It's a continual process; it is not complete.  God, the God of the universe, grabbed something inside of you and is changing you and molding you into what He wants you to be.  Stop reading and think about this.  Think about it.  Listen to the heartbeat of God: "You're mine.  I can't wait for you to turn into the person that I am forming."  We're still in the middle of the process.  That's awesome.

"will be faithful to carry it out to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." - Amen.  Amen.  Amen.  The process that He has begun in you is going to be complete one day.  It's going to be done.  This too shall pass.  It will end.  Can't you feel it?  Can't you feel the electricity of God moving in your life?  If you can't, then you may need to let the potter touch up the rough edges a little.  God is FAITHFUL.  What does that word mean?  Think about THAT one.  When He tells you something, He's gonna do it!  Isn't that great?  Sometimes we need to go back to the basics.  And the basic element of the Christian life is Faith in God that He is faithful to His Word.  And finally the day of Christ Jesus will come and not even the second coming.  It could mean that until death, we will be growing.  And when our path has completed, when we are done with what God meant for us to do, He's going to take us home.  I've got a quick story then I'll get off.  My grandfather passed away last semester.  He was a man of God that brought my dad and his siblings up to be men of God.  My uncle is the head of a Master's Commission in Alabama.  When his father was in the hospital, his was trying to explain death to his little 6 or 7 year old son.  Gary (my uncle) was having a hard time telling little Nate without breaking down b/c Gary loved his father so much.  Nate looked up at Gary and said, "Daddy, I guess that when you're job is done, Jesus takes you to be with Him."  Gary said "Son, that's a great explination."  When my papa died a few days later, Gary brought Nate into his office and said "Papa's job is done" and they just cried together. That's the day of Christ Jesus.  Jesus is done with the process of molding my papa.  The day of Christ Jesus is past and my papa is playing a game of Rook with the patriarchs.  (If you don't know what Rook is, it's a card game.  Let's leave it at that)  So until Jesus comes or until your job is done, the song is correct: "He's still workin' on me to make me what I ought to be."  Have a great holiday season.
